2 dead, 1 hospitalized in South Los Angeles shooting

Thanksgiving morning in South Los Angeles took a tragic turn as two individuals lost their lives in a shooting incident. The violent episode unfolded in the 14200 block of Towne Avenue near Compton and Willowbrook, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responding shortly after 8:20 a.m. First responders discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds, and unfortunately, two men were pronounced dead at the scene.

The third victim, suffering from traumatic injuries to the upper body, was swiftly transported to the hospital by ambulance. Fortunately, officials indicated that these injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed at this time.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a potential suspect has been detained, although they are not currently in custody. The preliminary investigation suggests that a fight may have occurred after a party in the area preceding the shooting.
