Teen shot, killed near primary school in Los Angeles

A tragic shooting incident claimed the life of a 17-year-old teenager, identified as Gabriel Quintas, near Lake Street Primary School in L.A.’s Westlake neighborhood on Saturday night. The Los Angeles Police Department received a call around 7:10 p.m., reporting an assault with a deadly weapon and shots fired in the 200 block of North Lake Street.

Gabriel Quintas suffered at least one gunshot wound to the chest during the incident. Quickly transported to a local hospital in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries and tragically passed away on Sunday. Law enforcement officials confirmed the teenager’s death.

The victim’s father, Angelo Quintas, appealed for information, urging someone to come forward and assist in obtaining justice for his son. He emphasized that the individuals responsible for the shooting likely knew Gabriel and his friends, encouraging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.

“The people that did this, they know Gabriel and Gabriel’s friends, they all know each other,” Angelo Quintas said. “Somebody knows something. Find it in your heart to help give Gabriel some justice because he doesn’t deserve this. He was a good person, a kind person and he doesn’t deserve to just be murdered.”

While the shooting is not believed to be gang-related, the investigation is ongoing, and no suspect description has been released by the authorities.
