An investigation is underway by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner after a dead body was discovered in the water at Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to calls about the body around 4:10 p.m., following reports from several individuals who had spotted it in Machado Lake, situated at 25999 S. Normandie in Harbor City. Aerial footage from Sky5 showed the presence of an ambulance and officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division at the scene. The body, covered with a white tarp or blanket, remained in the water near the shore.

Subsequent to the arrival of LAFD crews, the deceased individual was retrieved from the water. The initial assessment by first responders did not reveal any apparent signs of foul play or injuries such as stab or gunshot wounds. However, authorities have not released details regarding the age, gender, or identity of the deceased person. Moreover, information about the duration the individual may have been in the water has not been disclosed. The investigation is ongoing, and updates are expected as more details emerge.
