Where is Disneyland’s Star Tours going next?

Just in time for the annual Star Wars festival, Disneyland is set to unveil a thrilling update to its iconic Star Tours attraction, promising a new adventure in a galaxy far, far away. Scheduled for launch on April 5, the revamped experience will introduce passengers aboard the Starspeeder 1000 to an exciting destination alongside familiar faces from the Star Wars universe.

Among the notable additions to the Star Tours attractions are former Jedi Knight and rebel spy Ahsoka Tano, Alliance intelligence officer Cassian Andor, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, and the beloved “Baby Yoda” Grogu. These characters will join the mission on April 5 at Disneyland, Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, and Disneyland Paris in France, offering fans a fresh and immersive journey through the Star Wars galaxy.

The updates to Disneyland’s Star Tours attraction will coincide with the return of the Season of the Force event at the Anaheim theme park, running from April 5 through June 2. Star Tours currently offers visits to 11 iconic planets in the Star Wars universe, including Tatooine, Hoth, Batuu, and Coruscant, among others. However, the addition of the planet Peridea will introduce passengers to a new realm steeped in intrigue and mystery.

According to Imagineering, Peridea is an ancient world where Grand Admiral Thrawn was once exiled, as documented on the official Star Wars website. Passengers embarking on the new Ahsoka Tano storyline may encounter a host of compelling characters, including Assassin droid HK-87, Chopper droid C1-10P, and Grand Admiral Thrawn himself. Additionally, Ahsoka’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle and New Republic General Hera Syndulla’s Ghost light freighter could make appearances, enhancing the immersive experience for visitors.

Currently, Star Wars characters are integrated into the Star Tours attraction in various ways. From glimpses of iconic figures like Chewbacca and Jar Jar Binks during planetary excursions to encounters with formidable foes like Darth Vader and Kylo Ren, the adventure is filled with excitement and surprises. Moreover, hologram transmissions from Star Wars heroes such as Princess Leia, Yoda, and BB-8 provide further depth to the narrative, ensuring an unforgettable experience for fans of all ages.

With the introduction of Ahsoka, Cassian, The Mandalorian, and Grogu into the hologram transmissions, the Star Tours attraction promises to deliver even more thrills and surprises as passengers embark on a journey to previously unvisited Star Wars planets. As anticipation builds for the updated experience, Disneyland visitors can look forward to an unforgettable adventure through the vast and enchanting galaxy of Star Wars.
